Just put on the Hellwig

Ordered the Hellwig rear swaybar from Summit on Sunday and it came earlier today. It took abouut 2 1/2 hours, but I just finished putting it on my 04 FX4 F150. It's not tricky and it fit well. My only complaint is that the driver's side axle mount for the bar comes too close to the brake line splitting block, even with their spacer. I just took the splitter block off of the axle bleeder bolt and it gave me some clearance. I'll find another way to tie the mounting block down later. It all went together easily. Most of the time just went in to loose fitting the bar to make sure I liked how it mounted. My only fright was their torque specs. Cranking on those U-bolts made me nervous but they eventually tightened down to spec. Now to see how it changes the handling.

I bought the 7663. Didn't get a chance to take it out on the road this afternoon, so tomorrow will tell. Give or take the brake line issue, I really like how it fit.

The rear sway should be a stock item. Amazing handling improvement. Tracks truer at low speeds and corners much flatter and cleaner at speed. Even seems to quiet down the vibration induced road noise in the bed.

That's great I've been thinking about installing a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar for a while now. I guess I'll start looking into it again. Thanks for the report. Oh by the way, now that you have the rears on, do you think the fronts are worth replacing with a Hellwig?

I have the rear Hellwig on my 2005 4x2. Not to bad to install and well worth it. No longer feel like I'm gonna end up in the passenger seat on fast left curves!

BTW. It makes an aftermarket exhaust a little tricky to install at the tailpipe.
