Torsion Keys?

Ok what exactly do "torsion key spacers" or "larger" or watever aftermarket torsion keys do?

I really want to know if the allow more downward wheel travel?

TORSION KEYS appear to be spacers that allow to lift or lower the front of your truck 2-3" to give it a level stance. This link has some info on one company that produces them. Be aware that although they are a less costly alternative; they do not compete with a full lift. It should be (in my opinion) only a temporary fix while you save up for a REAL lift.

Good luck

They just allow you to put more preload on your torsion bars than the stock adjustment keys do. I would advise against them.

i highly advise that you do not put more preload on your torsion bars than what your stock keyways will alow fully cranked, aftermarker reindexed torsion bar keyways put the CV shafts at a bad angle and will cuase premature wear or falure if you crank them up past the preload of the suspension, good luck

thanx. I uderstand what ur talkin bout. I dont car too much bout the truck being to level, just looking for a smoother ride that doesnt hurt my ball joints as much. Ill prolly just trim a lot out or the back side of the fender and lower the torsion bars.

i've had my torsion bars cranked for a couple of years now without any problems. the front end is about 2 1/2-3" higher than stock. i did put new ball joints in just after cranking them.
