Groaning noise while turning
I am new at this so please be patient with me. I had two problems one was a rattling noise coming from the front of the vehicle. I couldn't locate it while it was sitting still so I had my son and one of his friends jump up and down on the bumper, because the only time I could hear this rattling noise was when I hit a bump going down the road. Located the problem after a couple of jumps from the boys - the stabilizer link bushings were bad. However I still can't pinpoint the second problem. I have a tire rubbing noise, it sounds like taking a tire and dragging it sideways, across the pavement, with pressure put on it, it happens every time I turn the wheels, this only occurs at low speeds, the power steering fluid is at normal level and the power steering pump seems fine. The noise seems louder from the front drivers side when you turn the steering wheel. It got worse when I replaced the stabilizer links. Can anyone tell me what could cause this noise? It is a 4.2L with a standard tranny. I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.

Noise while turning
I have a 97 f150 and I have the same noise happening when I pull out of a parking spot or at slow turns. I have asked a few people and they have told me it sounds like the pittman rod? I think that is what they told me. I also had new tires put on and the shop will fix but it will cost approx. 300 bucks. I am still looking for a solution. Good luck. I will post when I get any news.
