tire size?

I have a 97 f150 extended cab with stock suspension. I need new tires and would like to go as big as possible with out doing a lift. I am also going to go with the cheap black steel wagon wheels 15". I went to sams club and they had bf goodrich 33" and 35" tires? Would I possibly be able to fit the 35s on my truck?

Why can't you run 15" rims?

Right, the brakes are too large for 15 inch wheels to fit over them. I would suggest staying with your OEM wheels and going with some 33's. 285/75-16 or 285/70-17 would be the best size. Both tires are 33x11.50's.

The reason for changing my rims is that they are corroded from salt. It was a truck from Michigan. No chance at getting a bigger tire than 33".

If you use the OEM wheels, you can fit a 315/75-16 or 315/70-17 (35x12.50) by cranking up the torsion bars. This is an extremely tight fit and you will have some slight rubbing on the frame at full steering lock. Which factory wheel do you have?

17x7.5

265/70/17 is the stock size for that wheel....which is a 31.5x10.5 or thereabouts, IIRC

If they are corroded really badly, I would suggest beadblasting them and painting them. I think they would still look better than the black steel wheels, but I'm just not a fan of black wheels. If you want black wheels, you could just paint the OEM wheels black, but I think silver would look better personally.
