leaf spring/SAS on modern F150

Hi all,

I recently came across someone parting out what was left of some 1986 F350s, one with the SRW Sterling 10.25 rear axle, and the DRW had a Dana 60 front axle. All in all, it was a pretty good deal for both axles.

I bought them with the plan of doing a solid front axle swap to my 2000 F150, converting to a leaf spring front suspension. Leaf spring suspensions seem to be the best bang for the buck.

I'd like to stick to a conventional crossover or high steer arrangement.

The main manufacturers don't make any (1986 F350/monobeam) kits larger than a 10" leaf spring suspension lifts...none seem to make a drop pitman arm more than the extreme drop skyjacker (for 8"-10" leaf spring suspension lift). None make a drop pitman arm for the 2000 F150 steering box, so I'm going to have to swap it for a box that does have a drop pitman arm available.

Little problems like this are cropping up as I'm searching for stuff to make this happen. I can see it all in my head...I just don't know who to go to for lift parts that are outside the major manufacturers.

If anyone's been there/done that (especially with a '97 to '03 F150) any advice, gotchas, or manufacturer links of people that do >10" leaf spring lifts would be humbly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Jack

OK, let's ask the question a different way.

Does anyone have any good experiences with Whiplash, Valley Spring Service, or Full Throttle Suspensions?
