4inch suspension?

Im looking for about 4 inches of lift on my 01 screw 4x2, now i am leaning toward just going to a 3 inch body because i want to save money. Should i just go ahead and pay the price for a 4inch suspension? Or are there any other alternatives?

It just depends on how high you wanna go and how much money you want to spend. Personally, if I were to spend the money for a suspension lift, I would go ahead and get a 6 inch Fabtech.

That's my point. A quality 4 inch, 5 inch or 6 inch suspension lift (Fabtech, RCD, Pro Comp, Rancho, etcl) all cost approximately the same, while a 3 inch body lift is only around $150.

On any kit that you dicide to get, I HIGHLY suggest getting the kit that includes a drop down bracket with longer coils and spindles. Kits that use longer coils, longer A-arms, and lift spindles, but no drop down crosmember will create ball-joint, alignment, and ride issues. The drop down kits, like the ones for 4X4's, keep all the suspension in stock geomentry. So the 7 inch ultimate lift from Fabtech(lift spindles, coils, and lift spindles) says it gives you 3.5 inches of increase travel: But that just means your suspension is extended 3.5 inches downward and you loose 3.5 inches of down travel. That situation puts harsh stress on ball-joints and I forgot to mention, the tierods. You will be hitting the droop stops quite often and cause alignment and fron end component problems. Dont forget that hitting the droop stops gives you a less than desrired ride.

I recommend the pro comp 6" kit, RCD 6", fabtech 7.5" Dropdown crossmember kit, and the rancho 4" kit for your 01 supercrew 4x2

Take it from me. I learned the hard way! I had a cheaper kit on my truck.... Chasis tech.. bleh... (Upper control arms, spindals and new springs and shocks) and I had all types of knocking, rubbing and the ride was like my suspension was on steroids! I felt everything! I had just put on the 7.5" crossmemeber lift and oh my God what a difference! No Knocking, rubbing, and let me tell ya the ride is 100% better! It almost feels stock again! If you have any questions just let me know... I learned the hard way
