Installing daystar

Hi, I just got the daystar lift for my scab '05 and I was wondering if the installation is hard. Should I do it myself or should I have a pro do it?

Daystar kits are a little difficult to install yourself, for me anyway. I went with an Autospring install instead, since I didn't have to tear apart the coils.

Removing the coilsprings from the coilover shocks appears to be the biggest headache. You need a serious spring compressor to remove them.

Its not that hard to do.
Just got TWO sets of spring compressors from suto zone the loan-a-tool thing, it is free.
The hardest problem I had was putting the strut back together with the spacer. I did it all in about 1.5 hrs.
Make sure you have air tools.
Go for it, learn about your truck, and you will have more pride, it is not that hard.

Get a buddy to help you and do it yourself. The biggest socket you will need is a 30mm, torque wrench, and an air tools will just make it easier. Basic tools and your good to go.

cavermatt, how close do your tires come to rubbing on anything?i have 2005 supercrew with a 2 1\2 in. donahoe kit with robby gordon wheels on order and was wondering what tire size i could put on. i was looking to maybe put 315's on , but that might be pushing it . your truck looks great.

put the daystar 2.5" levelling kit friday night

thank god i went to my friend's shop. and the guy next door had a wall mounted spring compressor. that was the tough part, i never would have been able to pull it off at home with my small compressers. getting the struts out was pretty easy. but i'm very happy with the results. i did this mod for looks and seating position comfort. finally i don't feel like i'm leaning forward while driving down the road. and it seems like i can wait a few weeks until i get the time to check the alignment. so far so good.
