Better Ride

I have a 1999 Lariat, 4x4, super cab, SB with the tow package and 6500# GVW package. It has 60k miles on it (original shocks). The freeway ride on some of the concrete freeways here is a real bad as the truck bounces on the expansion joints. Any shock recommendations to improve the ride? I also noticed the lowest leaf spring can be removed (looks like an overload spring). I rarely haul around anything heavy and may remove it, put a spacer between it and the leaf above, or flip it over. Any suggestions to improve the freeway ride?

Thanks in advance!

The Edelbrock IAS shocks give a very good ride. They respond much better (more plush) than the stock shocks when the wheel needs to move fast, like on a pothole or expansion seam. But when the wheel moves relatively slow (like when the body leans suring cornering) they are stiffer than the stockers so you have less body lean.

My Edelbrock's have lost a lot of their damping after about 85,000 miles ( I replaced my lousy stock shocks at about 11,000 miles) and are ready to be replaced. Not sure if I am going to keep the truck but I will probably get the IAS again if I do.

I've been extremely happy with Monroe Reflex. Good control and great damping with nothing resembling a harshness over joints and cracks
