Shocks

My suspension is very stiff up front and I was wondering if i replaced the struts to a Rancho 9000 will this soften my ride up front at all? Currently I have just a non adjusting shock. I am not positive on the brand! Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Monroe Reflex all the way around. Mine cost $160 for all four and it took me an hour to change them. Very smooth ride.
