Installing daystar 2.5" level kit, need help!

I must be retarded, everyone says these are easy to install and i am having a heck of time with the upper ball joint. I am trying to install the leveling kit on me 04 screw and i am having trouble separating the the spindle from the upperball joint. I have tried using the air hammer with a ball joint remover but all i am doing is tearing up the rubber boot. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you sooooo much for your help.

Most people use a hammer to seperate them because of this reason. Of course you need to do something to protect the threads.

I used a 5lbs sledge hammer but a regular hammer will do it with 2 shots.

I had to use two. I put one on both sides. And, Make sure you get them even on both sides. like.. 180 degree's from each other. If you know what I mean. You want the spring to compress straight down or when you go to put it back together it will be a pain in the ***. Also, you have to have them hella compressed to get them back together when you have the spacer in or you won't be able to get that top nut on.
