Body lift?
Body lift?
I am looking to do a 3inch body lift on my 2000 xcab. I know I have to take my interior out because the bolts go up into the floor. Other than that how hard is a body lift and how much time is involved without a lift. I have lowered ibeam trucks and worked with alot of suspension but never done anything with a body lift. Also what is the biggest tire I can run with 3inch body lift. thanks
Overall its not too difficult. If you are doing it yourself the general time frame seems to be at least a weekend. If you can get a buddy or two to help you should be able to knock it in a good day.
I havent done it myself but Ive seen lots of posts here about it, and they all said to start soaking the bolts with WD-40 or something similar a day or two before you start.

I agree. If you have a 4x4, you can fit 35's. If you have a 4x2, you can run 33's easily. Also, the interior is not that big a deal. You have to pop out the door sill and kick panel plastic and pull up the edge of the carpet. On my Screw, I didn't have to remove the rear seat. I had to remove the 2nd and 3rd row seat on an Expy I lifted however, but it was no big deal. I'm not sure about a supercab.
On my supercab I pulled the carpet out from under the back of the back seat. Then the door seals and all seemed like a lot of work, so I did what someone suggested and made a small X cut in the carpet right over the bolt. It saved a bunch of time, and when pushed back together it disappears. Besides that, it's under a floor mat.
The biggest challenge is the bed bolts. Get yourself six (shortbed) or eight (longbed) equivalent 12MM bolts that have a hex head. Get the factory bed bolts out and replaced before you plan to do the lift.
Ford must have stock in Locktite, because those bolts are there to stay. I got three out, drilled out another and had the last two cut off by the muffler shop.
The best part of the job is that you really know how your truck is put together when you are done. It's a fun project.
