Ground Force Lowering Kit
Ground Force Lowering Kit
Has anyone installed this on there new 04-05 F150 and how is it? I heard if you have to put airbags just for towing purposes that I would have to get some stuff fabricated to get the airbags on there. I am going to run 305/40/22. Someone respond thanks.
The Ground Force is great. On the 97-03 model years, Ford used the kit on their Lightning models. I dont reccomend lowering airbags unless it is a direct bolt-on replacement. I doubt you want to void your structural warranty by cutting or modifying the frame
A 305-40R22 will only work with a 2/4 drop. Anymore and you will have to go narrower to tuck under the fenders

Actually, Ford had Rousch design the suspension on the Lightnings.
According to all the mechanics out here (I've been looking into this too) the 2/5 drop from ground force is a great kit and levels the look of the truck. But you don't have your choice of shocks unless you change out the shocks from the kit. DJM's 2/4 kit is good too but without shocks. One mechanic here put on the JDM kit so he good put on his own shocks. That way he took less risk of bottoming out. Got put all your needs out there. Are you planning on putting a lot of weight in the bed too? How much do you want to tow? Or are you going to sacrifice funtionality for appearance? Or go for the best of both worlds?

I'm basically going for both appereance and towing.. I will be towing a lifted ranger so probably around 6,000 lbs. I'm lowering it today, then I'm going to get the wheels this week. I'm also wondering if I'm going to run into problems running 305/40/22 with the kit, I don't want to have to do any modifications to the fenders. So I don't know if I should go with the 305/40 or the 295/40 because I don't want the tire sticking out to far from the fender. I want it as clean as possible. Is there anyone that makes bolt on airbags for the rear that would work with that drop?

What size rims are you going with. The 305's shouldn't be a problem. The old body style could handle 305's with a pretty good drop to it.If I remember correctly, Lightnings come with a 295 stock, and I know 305's fit them.
I put on the Ground Force 2/5 lowering kit on saturday and it is great.. I just put on the wheels and tires yesterday 285/40 Falken, With Foose Speedster 22x10 wheels. Now I just need to figure out the airbags for the rear for towing. I'll post some pics later of how my truck looks.

blinkjuice? give a call to Hellwig suspension, they're like guru's in airbags, they custom made me a set for my '93 Lightning I had and they were direct bolt ons. I also plan on doing the same drop as you did. I have an '05 Supercrew Limited Northwest Edition with 275/55-20 Roush rims that came on it. I was wondering are you having any rubbing problems or bottoming out?
