Wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to level out the ride heigth on my '03 FX4? I do not want a full suspension lift. I would just like to raise the front ride heigth, leveling it with the back ride height. This would equal about 1.5" of lift for the front of my truck. The Daystar product does not work for my year truck. Any ideas?

 

All you need to do is crank up the torsion bars and have the alignment checked afterwards.

 

Thanks Wandell, saw a reply you posted earlier that answered my question. Sorry to repeat what has already been done. Nontheless, adjusted the bars last night and saw a major inprovement.

I have another question on the same subject. I have a stock ride, 2001 4x4 F150 Supercrew (5.4), but will be lifting it in a year. I need new tires now. Thinking about cranking up the torsion bars to fit on some 315/70-17 until I raise it. How does cranking up the torsion bars affect the camber of the front tires? Any excessive tire wear?

 

It will throw the camber off. You will need to have the alignment adjusted after you crank the torsion bars up.

 

Howdy! I heard that aligning a 4x4 is more expensive than a 2 wheel drive vehicle. If this is true, how much can I expect to pay to have an alignment done?

 

That is the first time I have ever heard that. Shops in my area charge $39 for a front end alignment, except Tuesdays when one place has a $29 special.

 

Hmm... I guess my dad's been getting ripped off. I'll shop around... but I'll probably wait until I get new tires (Nitto Terra Grapplers or BFG AT/KOs), since it'll probably need it then anyway.
