Sqeeky Front suspension

Hello All,

I put a 7.5 lift on my truck and my front suspension sqeeks when i go over speed bumps etc. Does any one know how to get rid of this? Also my suspension is pretty stiff up front. My shocks now are not adjustable and its pretty stiff. If i put adjustable shocks on will this make my front suspension less stiff?

Did you grease your ball joints and control arm bushings. Usually a squeek is pretty easy to fix

Hello All,

Are there any poly bushings in this new setup? poly without grease=annoying squeek during movement. if so, take them back apart and lube them up liberly with synthetic grease. that worked real well for me. a little messy after a few miles but just wipe them off and be squeek free!

Maybe, maybe not. you have to know how stiff your springs are. are they coil or leaf? then you will know what you want the shocks to do for your ride. the springs and shocks work as a team to give you the firmness (or softness) you feel. For instance, if you have a spring rate that is high and a shock that has moderate to high compression,(stiff, meaning it's harder to push the shock piston back into the casing) you will get a stiff ride no matter how much you adjust the rebound. the rebound is how fast or slow the piston comes back out of the casing, getting your tire back to the ground after hitting a bump.
my opinion for general purpose driving, medium to medium high spring rate and a shock with medium to medium low compression and adjustible rebound, or for cheaper shocks, medium to medium high rebound. just my 2 cents worth.

jondog,

I am not positive as to what my spring rating is. I will be going to the garage where i got it done and will be asking. I am going to be getting my backspacing measured for my new tires i will be getting. So i am pretty stoked about that!
