fabtech vs pro-comp

hey guys,
i've been shopping around for a lift for my '01 4x4, and have heard that fabtech and rcd are the two best ways to go... i found a good deal on a pro-comp, though. does anyone know exactly why the fabtechs and rcd's are better and/or any info about the pro-comps and why they may not be the best?
thanks,
gradaddy

The Pro Comp appears to be a very good lift. I just don't think it is quite as high a quality as the Fabtech and RCD.

Yeah, 33's with a 4 inch lift looks good. I think our trucks look good with some space in the fenderwells.

In actuality there is no difference in the kits. The lifts are the same, the quality is identicle. Fabtech and Rcd just charge more. Lift kit patents only require 1% of change, ie, different shocks, different color powdercoat. These kits are all the same. I have sold them all and installed them all. It comes down to personal preferance.

i have driven a truck with a procomp lift and it rode HORRIBLE. felt like i was in my bros go cart, with no suspension. i had a rancho kit in my old chevy, rode better than my new ford does..

Uhhhh - NOT!!!!!!!

Fabtech, RCD and ProComp are all unique, each being produced by different manufacturers. And quality is not the same. I'd put the Fabtech at the top as far as function and durability. ProCrap and RCD are focused more on the overall lift than actual suspension travel. If you plan to use the truck off-road, go with the Fabtech kit.
