Exclamation Leveling Kit for 2002 F150 FX4

I have been trying to find a leveling kit for a 2002 F150 FX4. I haven't been able to find one for an 02 F150 unless it has the 4.6L V-8 in it. If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it.

You don't need one. Your truck has torsion bars which allow you to adjust the ride height.

Torsion bars are the springs used on the front suspension on 97-03 F-150 4x4's. THey are the long bar running from the lower a-arm back to the frames crossmember. There is an adjustment cam at the end. Screw the bolt in to increase preload and raise the front of the truck. Be sure to turn each adjustment bolt an equal number of turns. After doing this, the front end will need to be aligned. Increasing the torsion bars preload will make the initial portion of the suspension's travel slightly stiffer. Some people love this, some hate it. Here's a pic of the torsion bar. THe adjustment cam is covered in surface rust and the adjustment bolt is on the bottom.

You can get an inch or two usually. Every truck seems to be adjusted differently. My are cranked up slightly from stock. I may have them cranked up 3/4 to 1 inch higher than stock.

interested

I have an 02 f150 4x4 also. I am interested if you adjusted the torsion bars. If so how has it been for you? Did you have any problems?

there are tons of people on the forums & others with 97-03 150s with their torsions cranked & have no problems
just be sure not to crank them too much
this will cause hard angles on your cv axles (causing premature failure)

You can put a 2" torsion key on there or crank as stated above

with the torsion bar cranking, if you add a 3" body lift and have the bars cranked 2" will this give you a total lift of 5"? if so its cheaper going this route then buying a 6" liftkit?
