Who has lifted their truck themself???
i was wondering if it has been done and how difficult it was. im talkin about a full suspension lift not levelers or body lifts. what suspension lift dosent require cutting?
I did my 3" body lift severals years ago. I got help with some minor welds under the bed. And the suspension lift two months ago. Is a 6" Fabtech that needs no cutting (only the tie rods if needed). I got help with the alignment. The body lift is not difficult but very time consuming and the suspension may or may not be difficult depending on your level of expertise mechanically speaking. I did all this by myself but if you can get some help the better. Air tools are great but I didn't have any. A garage is very important but I didn't have a garage either so I went to my parents house for the body lift. For the suspension lift there was no space (truck too high) so I purchase a 10x10 tent to work under. I read the instructions for both many times before starting, so I could have all the necessesary tools beforehand. Being methodical and organized helps. Safety first.
As you can see is more desire to do something big to your rig than anything. I am not an expert but I learned a lot by taking action on my truck projects and coming to this forums for information. I feel very proud of whatever I can do to my truck.
I hope this helps.

I did my lift a couple of months ago also and I don't think it was to bad.You really need some to help you as I did because it makes it much easier.I never did anything with suspension before I did the lift.Just do some reading on here and read the instructions a couple of times before you start. It took me 15 hours to do mine so make sure you have enough time set aside expecially if this is your only ride.Read some of the post from JMTruck and bigtruck311 as they were a lot of help to me.
Hey JMTruck, I have not heard from you since I lifted my truck.I am glad you and bigtruck was here for all the info.I posted some pics after the lift and was waiting for you and bigtruck to respond so I could thank you for the help.I assumed you guys just didn't see the post.Anyway thanks for all the info and check out my gallery.BTW what happened to bigtruck?
I put a new frame on a wrecked 2004 F150 mostly by myself. A lift kit wouldn't be that difficult. Air tools are you best friend.
