6" Fabtech suspension help, please!

I ordered a Fabtech 6" Performance System lift kit for my 2000 f150 XLT. I was talking to a guy i work with and he said that it may not work on my truck b/c it's extended cab, not crew cab...and he also said the tranny may not be right because i have the towing package. Is he full of it or what? Could someone also tell me what transmission i more than likely have and any other "things" i should buy to do the lift right (such as extended brake lines, etc.) Thanks! -Chris

I think you are right. I've seen a ton of Supercabs with Fabtech lifts.

To determine what tranny you have, look on the driver's side door jamb sticker, there is a transmission code.
E is the E40D/4R100
U is the 4R70
Although, this should not make any difference for the lift kit...

And I am pretty sure that the supercrews and supercabs use the same kit from Fabtech.

You should be ok to go.
