Torsion Bars

If I turn up my torsion bars will I be able to use my stock shocks. I do not plan to increase much more than half an inch just want to help out suspension parts when plow is on.

if it's just a half inch you'll be just fine. just know now that the shocks are closer to topping out when you hit the bigger bumps.

The travel of your front suspension is limited by the bumpstops, not the shocks. You do not need to change the front shocks whether you crank the preload all the way up or lower the front end.

The travel of your suspension can be affected by shocks. I've seen stock shocks break after the torsion bars were cranked up too far. The bump stop limits the bottoming of the suspension but if the shocks are too short they will reach their maximum length before the suspension and this can result in shock damage.

If you are using oem spec shocks then you should be fine. The articulation of the front suspension, from full extension to full compression is taken into account and the shocks have more than enough travel to allow you to go from one extreeme to the other and cause no damage.
