Performance Accesories 3" body lift ANYONE???
Performance Accesories 3" body lift ANYONE???
So I think I am going to slap a Performance accesories 3" body lift on my 00 Lariat 4x4 SCab. I quickly looked at Summit and they have them for $158.95.
What is everyone else paying for this kit?
And from the ones who have this kit already installed, any tips? anything else you had to buy? Any special tools? I hear a large socket in in order, What size?
Thanks
Craig

You need to get a set of PA's Gap Guards to cover the 3 inch gap in the wheelwells the lift creats. The socket you are refering to is a torx socket for the rear bed bolts. You can buy one at Advance Auto, Pep Boys etc. Also, start soaking the body bolts with penetrating oil now.
re body lift
Yah good call the perforance body lift will look awesome, i put one on my 01 f150 4X4 and it look 10X better. I agree, make sure u get the gap guards it look really bad without them, u can could see through one end od the bed to the other...also if u get it installed ask them to move ur rear bumper up aswell cuz i dont believe the rear bumper braket is included in the kit, it wasnty in mine i had to trim and re bolt mine myself.
I also cut the ends of my frame rails off (directly in front of where the tow hooks mount) so they didn't stick through the bumper's valance. It cleaned up the look of the front end a lot. I then installed some 88-98 GM towhooks inside the frame rails.

My son put lift lips (like gap guards) on his first truck with a body lift. On the next one he used rubber roofing and made his own. He used the original front flaps as a pattern and added 3 inches. For the rear he just cut straight pieces long enough and held everything in place with the plastic fastners made to hold on door panels. It worked great and cost a fraction of the price of gap guards.

Hey Wandell and all,
Mine goes on tomorrow. The truck has been in the garage since Monday evening. My garage that is. Bumpers are off, radiator is out, etc., etc.
Planning on doing the lift Friday night. You guys have sure been a big help. But, then again you are the ones that caused this!!!
