RSX shocks
Well boys i got my RSX's installed today. I havent had much of a chance to try them out yet but they seem to be a little better on the irrigation trails and dirt roads- they still seem allmost as rough on the rough tar roads though. Is there a BREAK IN PERIOD for these shocks????????
I thought these shocks were supposed to be smooth on all road conditions due to the reflex valveing?????? My stock shocks only had 7500 miles on them- but one of the rear ones is shot- i can easily fully compress it by hand- the other 3 are in much better shape- i think i could have gone awhile before changing- but hopefully after more testing i will find out the new ones are much better- cuz that is what all u guys have been telling me???????
I will be trying them out much more in the days to come. I have alot of back roads to cover

ok boys i did a little more driving this weekend and here is my impression so far- there is definetely less body roll and braking pitch, and it is a little smoother- but not as big of an improvement as everyone on here said i would have. According to what i read on here worn out ranchos are better than new ford shocks- LOL. I am beginning to think there is alot of hype on this forum about shocks
Well i got them on sale so they didnt cost me too much- and hopefully they will last for 80,000 miles or so and i wont have to change them again before i trade her off, lol. At least they didnt make it ride any worse

For some people the difference in ride is more noticeable.
Its hard to make shocks feel a whole lot better when you mostly drive on farm roads.
My RS5000s ride quite a bit better than my stock shocks did. They dont float as much, and the ride is smoother.

I thought thats why they were called "OFF ROAD PERFORMANCE SHOCKS"
And i have also tested them on the highways around here as well- went on an extended trip this weekend- it was a little smoother yes- and it is definetely smoother than our old 98 farm truck- but i am just saying it is not as big of an improvement as i was expecting over the near new ford shocks that were on the truck.
I would have to say the biggest improvement I have felt is off road field driving and in cornering and braking pitch. i tore around a little more than usual today and on corners it was much better. and definetely better in the fields than the farm truck.
But on the highway there has been very little difference.- as far as being smoother. I guess i shouldnt expect it to ride like a car- it is a TRUCK, lol. I just got caught up in all the hype on this forum- i should have left the stock shocks on another 10,000 miles. Like i said i am happy about the improvement on the corners.

I agree with you. I put some Monroe Reflex shocks on my 2003 F-250 with the expectations that it would be noticabley smoother(after reading all the hype on this board). The front may be a tad smoother but the rear is just as firm as before. Maybe I should have gone the rs9000 route and put them on setting 1. As a matter of fact I might just do that. I'll return the rear shocks and buy some rs9000 shocks and set them on 1.
