Ladder Bars

Has any had any luck finding Ladder Bars for a 1998 4X4, everyone seems to make them for every year except the 98. Fabtech would be my first choice since I have the Fabtech lift, but unfortunatley they do not make there Ladder Bars to fit a 98 F150.

The thing I like most is the way the Fabtech Ladder Bars attach to the rear end, unlike some of the kits I have seen the Fabtech bars have a special bracket that goes around the U Bolt and clamps to the Axle.

Thanks for suggestion, can you tell me how yours mount to the rear axle, do you have a picture?

My only concern with Ladder Bars is the way they mount on the Axle.

Your Truck looks great by the way, thanks for the help.

here is an older pic i found before i did some fabin for the damn parking brake cable, looking at the pic my 4" blocks look huge i need to get new rear springs, the traction bars bolt right under the springs with a 1/4 steel haevy duty bracket with poly bushings, just be warned if you are building your rig for max flex this is not for you, it flexex pretty good but if you have double shackles for max flex or anything custom like that on the rear, but it works great for me and it still flexex good, hope this helps

Just an idea. I believe i saw somewhere that the procomp traction bars and any ladder bars that mount the same way as the procomps, that you cannot use taller springs with no block.

Will this work with the fabtech kit? Fabtech told me they are not making a kit yet. I called 4wheel parts in Dallas about the Pro Compt and they told me that they were not sure because they have not done one yet. What do you think?

Thanks,

yes it will work with the fabtech lift, it is an easy install and you or any shop should be able to do it, i have seen the traction bars on a 04 with a 6" lift and it looks good i say go for it

for that much trouble i'd put a crossmember in the rear frame and put a 4-link in it and get it over with...zap!
