I'm looking to replace my stock shocks on my truck....I have a 98 F-150 ex-cab 4x4, been looking at some pro-comp's but is gas or nitro better???

nitro is always better in my opinion, less foaming and holds together better under heat and all that

You might look at the Monroe Reflex. They aren't necessarily an "Off Road" shock, but they are very good and right now there is a $5/shock rebate. I just had a set put on my 2wd and really like them. Good luck!

Yeah I priced them out...right now on of the racing catalogs has buy 3 and get the forth free and they are like $20.00 a peice cheaped than the monores. So I've been doing some looking and I think I'm going with the pro comp's....

Well I got my shocks today and put them on.......I ended up getting pro comp ES9000 and they are SWEET, pretty easy install also, just needed the neighbor to come over and hold the wrench on the rear ones(arms not long enough LOL) fronts went really fast. What a difference new shocks make, feels like a new truck.
