lifting my 2003

I was wondering what peoples opinion on lifting a 2003 FX4 supercrew. I had a Z71 and hated the ride and was wondering how the ride would be on my crew? I was looking at a 4" Pro Comp or a 6" FAB-TECH I heard the Fab-TECH was the best but really didn't want to go that high. I anyone could help I would appreciate it. Also can I run 315's on a 4"? I was going to do 4"in the front and the 2" block in the back so the truck would squat. Thanks

You can fit 315's with either of those lifts.
Fabtech's are the best (for our trucks), and the Pro Comp is not bad or anything.
Either one should give you a close to stock ride (some seem to like it better).

I'd put a Rancho 4" on it and call it a day. It will give you the 4" front/2" rear lift you are looking for. It is a nice lift and did not increase my halfshaft angles at all. Actually, I cranked the torsion bar bolts 4 turns to get it to sit a bit more level. It did make the ride a little stiffer but not annoying - we still take it on trips to Florida and East Texas. A 4x4 with 35s is likely to ride a little stiff

I just had a 6" Fabtech put on with dual steering stabalizers and the ride is awesome. Before the SCREW I had a Z71 Ext. Cab with PA 3" Body and 6" Pro-Comp. I will never do that again. The Pro-Comp on the Z's are terible. Plus it was always out, never could align it.

I am very happy with the Fabtech.

Just some thoughts

Regardless of what lift you go with, its not going to ride as smooth as when it was stock. When you modify the suspension you change your ride a lot.

if done right and in moderation you can get it to ride the same as stock if not better, i have lifted many vehicles some rode better than others, alot has to do with tires, before when i had the super swamper sts at my ride was awsome better than stock in my opinion alot of it has to do with how you want it to ride i like a stiffer ride in my vehicles and that is how i built the suspension using custom made offroad king racing shocks brought my suspension tuning to the right dampening and rebound i wanted so this is not entirely true

Fabtech is good to go, but...

...the Fabtech shocks are crap. I have a Fabtech 6" on my truck with a 4" block in the rear (instead of the Fabtech 3") and I love it. Had it on for almost a year now and I really have no complaints aside from the shocks. I just bought Bilsteins, though, so that should improve things a little bit.
