2" or 2.5"?

I've been checking out this site for a while but this is my first post. This site has already been really useful and looks a lot more helpful than FTW which I still like don't get me wrong. Here's my question...I am planning on ordering a leveling kit for my 04 FX4 and I was wondering which is going to make the truck sit level without causing the front end to be way up when I haul my 4wheeler or Bass Tracker. I am also debating between the Autospring and the EZ Lift. I know a lot of people are running the Auto. with no problems and a couple are running the EZ lift with no problems but I did see a guy on here said that he was having a problem with the EZ lift causing the coils to scrub something really bad. I know both lifts are supposed to be really easy to put on so that won't be a problem. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Anyone? Any of you guys with any of these kits haul anything? Please let me know what you've seen when under load. Thanks!

Please help! I really want to get this thing on soon! Also, I'm planning on keeping the stock tires until they run out and I want to keep the stock wheels because I really like them. Is it going to look dumb with the stock size tires until its time for new ones? Thanks guys!

Thanks for the reply Craig! My biggest concern is that I want the truck to sit as level as possible without having the front end stick way up in the air when I haul my 4 wheeler or small boat. I also want to keep my stock tires til they run out and don't want it to look stupid until I can get some 33's.

i suggest measuring front and rear wheel well height with nothing in the bed and then measring the exact same spots while your 4 wheeler is in the bed. taking pictures would help with this too.

see how much your 4 wheeler drops the back. i'll bet a 2" leveling spacer will make it sit pretty even.

2.5" makes it even unloaded. I'll have to try that this weekend. If anyone with either kit has hauled anything, please let me know what the outcome was. I want to order it before this weekend but I can't decide between 2" and 2.5" Thanks!

You can't go wrong with either. I'm a daystar owner and very pleased.

aye d...how do you feel about the issue about pre-load...yada yada yada. is it stiffer or is the ride still okay? since i do some off-roading, i dont want to bottom out and all that quick. daystar or autospring is my cheapy lift until i go with rancho.

im leaning towards daystar since im replacing my shocks the same time i do the lift...so since the coils have to come out, might as well add the daystars! now its an issue with 2" or 2.5"...i want the front to sit 1" lower only because i haul stuff once in a while and dont want an uneven look. ive seen the 2" daystars on our trucks and it looks pretty level until you put one with the 2.5 next to it.

No change in ride quality. That pre-load stuff is for the birds. Mostly autospring guys that say it stiffens the ride and is no good. I haven't heard an actual daystar owner complain yet.

Last time I checked, Daystar only makes one kit - the 2.5" dead-nuts level kit. Autospring makes all those wacky sizes.

If the majority of the time you aren't hauling anything. I would make it level unloaded (2.5) I like my stuff level!! No jacked up rear ends for me.
