4" rough country on 1995 F150

I am purchasing a 4" suspension kit from Rough Country for my 95 F150 (4X4). I was hoping to put it on myself with the help of some friends. I was told that I might need a coil spring compressor. Anyone know if this is true? Also was wondering if anyone has this particular lift and what their opinion of it is. Thanks!!!

yes you will need a spring compressor but be very careful when you are messing with them they can be dangerous.oh and you will need a good impact to it will make it much easier.

I've put on two rough country lifts and from what I've experienced, they are pretty decent lifts. We had to do a little grinding here and there to get everything to fit properly. I guess that is to be expected.

A few hints:

1) Read the directions. No, I'm not joking. Know them front and back.

2) Read the directions.

3) Hit all the nuts and bolts with penetration oil before you start. It makes getting those rusted bolts a little easier to get out.

4) Grab a couple friends. Make sure you get the ones with air tools.

5) Two jacks, and six jack stands will make the job go smooth. You will be able to get by with less however.

One last thing, you might want to check out your local autoparts store to see if they rent coil spring compressors so you don't have to shell out the cash and buy one.
