33" vs 35"

I have a 2001 Supercab. I cant decide weather to put a 3" body lift on my truck, or a 4" suspension lift. I am also getting a DayStar 2.5" Leveling Kit. Its only a 2x4, so I wont be doing much offroading, I just want a tought truck look.

My question is if I put 35" tires will I have to re-gear? I ahve the 4.6 V8. Would you recommend me going with 33" BFG A-T. Also do 35" BFG A-t fit on the stock rims? thanks for any advice and answers.

You will have to regear if you go with a 35 inch tire. Personally, I'd stick with a 33 inch tire.

You don't have to regear, but you can say goodbye to your mileage, power and performance if you don't with 35's....if you want looks, and might want to resell the truck later, go with the DayStar kit only and 33's. Lifts actually devalue a truck for trade-in (I know this all too well after my last truck).

Hope this helps!

Zamboni68 thanks for the info. When you said I can say good bye to performance were you talking about with the 35"s or 33"s?

Also thanks for the tip of the re-sale, but I love my truck! and I'm 17 and this is my first car and i will probably have it untill im at least 21-22.

Whether or not a lift affect you value depends on where you live. Take a look around. If you see lifted trucks all over your city, it won't hurt you. If you don't see any, it probably will.

Because you live in California and plan on owning the truck for a while, go with the suspension lift and the 35"s. You will have to regear to gain back the power that is lost, but it will be worth it in the end.
