Lower rear end

On F150 (04) Lariat, I want to lower the rear end for the same tire height clearance as the front end . (lower rear 2 to 3"). Can I simply remove the spacer blocks between the spring and axle? (They are about 2" or so). If not do I use shackles? What about shocks for this lowering job. Are new ones necessary? Does the drive shaft vibrate? Do I need a front end alignment? Thanks.

I dropped my rear 2” with DJM shackles. The stock shocks are fine and it looks like I’m not going to need the optional “pinion shims” that some folks need because they picked up a slight vibration. It won’t effect the front end alignment but you might have to readjust your headlights down a little
