Body lift install... time?

Just wondering, for a good mechanic how long it should take? I heard its really easy and shouldn't take that long, but all these guys in my area want to charge 400-600 dollars. Taking it to my uncle and we're going to try to do it. Just asking for any advise... anything I should watch out for?

Mine took me all weekend, basically working by myself. I did one on an Expy and it took all weekend also.

You did not say what vehicle. Regardless, by far the biggest problem you will have is the body mount bolts. Soak them with PB blaster or like product for at least 8 hours. If you plan on doing the work on a Saturday soak the bolts on the Monday then again on Tuesday and every day till you remove them. If you truck is older or has seen a lot of dirt expect to snap a few bolts. This may renter the J nuts useless so make sure you have replacements or the hardware store is open. Bring one of the bolts form your kit for an exact match. BTW the bolts are metric. AS mentioned two competant people can do it in an 8 hr day. It took me two days to do mine alone. I have an extended cab and to get to the middle bolts in the cab you have to lift the carpet. Some seat bolts were jammed so I couldn't get the seat off to lift the carpet. I cut X slits in the carpet over top of the bolts. Doesn't show. Read the insructions over and over till you understand them.

Good luck

JMC
