Traction Bars

I have a 98 F-150 with a 4" suspension lift/4" body lift.
Would it be a good idea to install some traction bars?
Thanks, Philhttps://www.f150online.com/galleries/pictureview.cfm?pnum=114659&anum=7874

if you are getting axle wrap or wheel hop than yes it would be a good idea to go with a set of traction bars but if you dont experience these problems than you will be fine without them

When I put on my lift, I added some traction bars as preventative maintenance. I would recommend traction bars to minimize axle wrap. If you wait until you get axle wrap to put on traction bars, you've waited too long. As a general rule of thumb, I would expect to get axle wrap with a suspension lift ... especially if you use blocks in the rear. Traction bars are often a cheap way to minimize this byproduct of messing with your vehicles geometry.

what are traction bars. are they like leaf springs? are they expensive too? i did a search but only came up with results that all involved lightnings and dropping them. but it sure sounds like i DONT want axle wrap or wheel hop.
thanks for info!

a traction bar is a devise that will give your tires better traction for the race guys it will give them a better launch for the offroad guys it keeps the tires on the dirt and prevents the tires from bouncing up and down(wheel hop) and the axle from moving one way or the other(axle wrap) here is a pic of my pro comp traction bars they are really only needed if you really use it to offroad lifted trucks
