2005 SD Steering wander
2005 SD Steering wander
I just switched from a 2004 F150 to a 2005 F250. Thanks to the DSB.
I have a question regarding steering wander.
It may just be that I am used to driving the 150, but there seems to be excessive play/wander in the front suspension of my new F250.
I had a 2000 F250, and I don't remember it being this bad.
I took my new truck in at 350 miles and they said that it was out of alignment. They aligned it and it is a little better. But I find myself being thankful that I don't drink, cause it is only a matter of time before I am pulled over for swerving.
Is there anything I can check prior to taking it back to the dealer, and being told that it is "normal".
Thanks for any and all replies.

no experience with new bodystyle, however, somethings you could check........
Is powersteering pump working correctly (I thought there were some issues with new bodystyle pumps?) or
I thought there where some issues with the rotors/brakes on the new bodystyle? .....could they be sticking?
If originally misaligned, you may wish to move front tires to back and see if that helps (while jacked up, tug on wheel to see if any play) , or
Check your leafspring packs. Does the rear of the truck look a little lower than other models like yours? If so, replace the entire leaf spring packs.
