Extremely annoying wheel hop!
I have the DJM 4/6 drop kit on my 98 f150 and when I get on it the wheels either spin or I get the worst wheel hop. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems or if they know of anyway to help reduce or eliminate the wheel hop.
Thanks
Thanks

Wheel hop is caused by the pinion angle not being within a certain acceptable tolerance. Whether it be a lifted truck or lowered...it is all the same. If your pinion angle is too high or low, you will have problems with wheel hop (which will cause your u-joints to go out prematurely).
Basically...the rear end is twisting when you accelerate, which is causing the "wheel hop". As others have mentioned, installing traction bars will emilnate the axle twist (wheel hop).
That is about all I know. However, it seems to me there should be a better way to fix the real problem, which is to correct the pinion angle rather than just preventing the axle from twisting.
Anybody know if there is a better fix to his problem? Such as shims maybe????
