F150 7700 Series
F150 7700 Series
Hey how's it goin folks? I have a 2001 XLT Supercab F150 7700 with 5.4 engine. I did have a 1999 before this one but the difference is like between night and day. This puppy would pull a house off the foundation if ya hooked up to it. It amazed me how much more torque is in this one compared to the 99. I love this truck it rocks and it's funny how some people just eye it when they see it. I'm about to do a full tune-up to it. Everything changed from bumper to bumper. While doing this would adding a cold air intake along with maybe a power chip be a bad idea? It wouldn't get all out of wack after adding this? I do have the exhaust dualed out. Strait from the caddy converter out the rear with stainless steel tips. It's not s commercial exhaust but this guy in my home town bends his own pipes and make it to snug perfectly in the truck. It's all welded together not going anywhere. The size is 2 and 1/4 but it has one mean growl to it. Guess that's it so if anyone has some advice on what to do/not do let me know please. Peace,
Welcome ! Yes, the 7700s are nice. The lower gearing allows the torque to really shine. Your truck will not be "out of whack" by adding either of those products. Those 3 modifications are the most common combination to bump up HP and have been done a million times without incident.
7700gvw
hey i have a 2001 f150 7700gvw also. i have a dual flowmaster out back, intake and hypertech in it. i wanted the chip mainly to correct the tranny shift points from running lg. tires, but it made a noticeable increase in tq and hp. throttle responce is amazing. it'll take my friends little pocket rockets any day of the week, and then have no problem hauling a loaded cattle trailer up at 75-80 on the interstate. i definately recommend those if you haven't already. ps: don't know about houses, but it seems to pull stumps just fine, lol.
