creeking noises from back of truck

I'm getting some creeking noises from my truck when I drive. It sounds like they are coming from behind the cab somewhere. Could my leaf springs be the culprit? I hear it when I go over bumps, railroad tracks, concrete joints in the highway... even when I break and the nose of the truck comes down I can hear it. However when I am stopped and go to the back and move the truck around on the suspension, I don't hear it.

I'm getting close to 150,000 miles on it.

Any suggestions?

Might be your hanger for your exhaust i know after i got my new exhaust on it started doing that and all it was, was the hanger knocking around in the hole wehre it goes, i just put a little bolt in there beside it to wedge it in there tight and it hsnt done it ever since.

Thanks, but that's not it. My exhaust is cut off just past the muffler. No hangers involved.

It might be the rubber stops that the tailgate rest against. Additionally could be the pivot hinge of the tailgate. White lithium grease usually takes care of the noise.

I replaced the front shocks this weekend cause they were due it, and when I was raising the front of the truck on the jack, you could hear the noise as well. I was thinking now that it might be the torsion bars. I also get the noise when I turn my steering wheel when I'm stopped or going real slow.

Your squeek that happens when you turn the wheel is probably the pitman arm squeeking. As far as the other squeek goes, it might be your ball joints. Push down on the front fender of you truck and listen for a squeek.

with some help of the wife, I think I located the problem. I think it's the tie-rod end on the left side. It makes alot of noise. I used a grease needle and no help. So, I am pretty sure I'm in order for a new tie-rod end. I know what my evening tomorrow will be. I hope this cures it.
