Front leaf springs and Straight axle

ok, i have been reading a great deal but have not really found anything about putting a straight front axle on with leaf springs. would this hold up on a 2001 f150? i have friends that have done it to other vehicles.

i have been reading review and review about the fabritech kit and dont really know if i want to go that route. however if the leaf springs dont work i think i might have to get the kit and make it work, since i have no full fabrication expierence.

i am thinkin of doin the front and rear axles off of a 78/79 bronco/f150 since i have been reading they would the be the best applications.

i do wheel my truck ALOT and like the bragging rights of getting a full size around so this is a serious upgrade for me right now.

thanx in advance,

It will hold up and work just fine. I am buying the parts for mine right now, to hell with buying a kit for $2500. I went down to my local agro-supply store and bought 3" wide leaf spring mounts for the front and rear, measured for mount points, put on new steering stabilizer mount, bought a Dana 60, and arched F350 1 ton springs (front and rear). Havent really had a chance to check out if there will be any mods for the front drivshaft (length, pinion angle). Gotta go up 13 1/2" to clear the 39.5s i got from my buddy that owns a junk yard........
Can't wait....................

Bitchin',

Adam

P.s. will keep you updated with any new discoveries, unless you get started before me, then please let me know.
