3" body lift install

I am going to buy a 3" body lift..this is what the guy replied to me and said. Is this a good deal? or is it something I can save money and do it myself. And how do I know if these lines and linkage have enough room for a lift? Thanks.

The Email from the seller:
Bryan, we can install your kit for $225 but it will have to wait till after the 1st of the year , we are moving to a new shop and have to finish all our other projects first. Make sure that your shifter linkage and other lines/hoses have enough play to accomodate a 3" lift

Performance Accessories brand body lifts are the best brand, they come with everything you will need. I got my 3" body lift and gap guards for under $200 from www.4wheelparts.com so you should try them before you get any other kind.

It's not hard to install a body lift yourself if you have all the tools you need. I did mine in a day and I was fooling around alot. I put 315/70R17 on the stock rims.

Here's some pictures of mine if you wanna see how it looks.

There are 3" polyurethane blocks that won't break. You put them where your bushings are by lifting the body off the frame and slipping over the screw, the Performance Accessories kit comes with new longer screws also as a precaution.

The nerf bars should be fine if they are the stock ones because they are actually connected to the body.

The grill guard is gonna be 3" lower than it is right now, there is a member on www.fordf150.net where I frequent most named "Firezapper", he made the bracket you need. Ask him for a picture of it.

I had a hidden hitch before the body lift, just looks like a normal reciever hitch now. Look at my gallery in my previous post in this topic for pictures of it.

I've had both suspension lifts and body lifts on several vehicles. My biggest gripe with body lifts is that items that don't move with the body like the 4x4 shifter on the floor get shorter. Does anyone know if the 2004 F150 center console shifter will "shrink" with a body lift?

Also, to tag on to Tex54's question, if the rear is already higher than the front, a body lift will not change that right? Do you still need a leveling kit to even it out?

Body lift's lift both the front and rear the same height. The whole vehicle will be the same tilt it is now, only 3" taller. You can put a leveling kit on there to level it out if you want, I cranked my torsion bars but that won't work on an '04.

I HAVE A 97 F150 WITH A 3" BODY LIFT AND I HAVE 35-12.50s WITH 16X10 WHEELS ON IT MY TRUCK USED TO SET WITH A TILT . YOU CAN GO TO ANY LOCAL TIRE SHOP AND HAVE THEM TIGHTEN YOUR TORSION BARS ABOUT HALF WAY IF YOU GET THEM TIGHTENED ALL THE WAY THE FRONT END WILL GO OUT OF LINE BUT NOT HALF WAY. AND IT WHEEL CLEAR THE TIRESAS A MADDER OF FACT I PLAN ON SLAPPING SOME 36 ON TO SEE HOW THEY WORK OUT HOE THIS HELPS. OH YEAH MOST TIRES SHOPS WILL TIGHTEN THEM FOR FREE. OR CHARGE ABOUT TEN DOLLARS ANY THING HIGHER IS A RIP OFF
