What's the KNocking? I only drove over a curb....

I drove over a curb and now it knocks. But I thought it was something more major like the bearings. But tonight I went over and pushed down on the front end and the bumper and it "kncoks...knock ....knock.... " Each time I do it it'll knock. But what I noticed was if I push down it won't do it. But if I push down and then pull on the bumper and pull up on it it'll knock every time. Did I bend something or did something stir loose or ?????

What do you think my suspension Guru's.......

I need to fix my DPFE sensor first before getting into new projects. Do you think its something major? Or since its been 2wks of driving on it its probably ok to continue until I get some more cash to have it checked out.....

I am planning to get "opinions" tomorrow and see what these guys think, from the Ford place to the small shops...

Thx Gurus...

I'd suspect tie rod ends first. Or ball joints. Mileage?

96,000 miles....

But I onl;y drove over a curb into burger king. Nothing major or high speed. I had the wheel turned as I was going down though...
Maybe that might be the prob.

I went to get a Ford shop opinmion and he said it is prob the stabilizer as Ford make them Plastic and may have broke. But it won't do it if I push down. I have to push down AND PULL UPpast the shock normal height and a light knock will be heard. Its almopst liek it seems its the bumper or something. So whatever is attached to the bumper and shock inevidably is the culprit.

*** I need your guys help. I need to smaoke, This is stressin me. I have to get some parts and don't have the money for the holidays.. I need to figure out if its a checker fix or not really and what I might be....

Any signs you want me to look out for and then I can refer back to let you know yay or nay if its this. Sort of like knocking out this out that possibility..

Thanks

I bet its the sway bar link. The thing that fastens the sway bar to the rest of your truck broke. The only way I was able to tell is have a couple friends get on one side of the truck and rock it vigorously and me and the mechanic lying on the ground looking up front and sure enough the passenger side sway bar was bouncing up and down. Had both links replaced instead of just the broken one. Good luck!

I'm gonna go with this too. Sounds like a sway bar end link. They are pretty common on the F150s and Expys. I was replacing these all the time in the Expys. Peek your head under there and look to see if the end link is busted on that side. Pretty easy fix if you have an hour or so of time and some tools. The sway bar can sometimes be a bear when you try to instal the new end link....

tie rods

Dont know if this is related , but today my left tie rod let go as I was going over a 3 lane city bridge in heavy traffic; it was not much fun. The vehicle (98 f150 2wd) has 86,000 kms or about 55,000 miles. Ford sent a letter in September regarding being vigilant about tie-rod inspections, but won't recall. If my wife had been driving down the highway it could have been bad. I strongly urge anyone with an f150, 2 or 4wd, and especially in "rust" regions, to keep an eye on the tie rods. My other vehicle is a 1992 Nissan car that has travelled 135,000 miles over the same roads with no front end problems
