Question which lift kit

i have a 98 f150 4x4 ext and am thinking about installing a 3 inch lbody lift. i was wondering which lift kit is the best to install and complete with all the appropriate instructions.as i have never tried installing one of these but should have the ability to.also by cranking up the front torsion bars does this not make the front suspension not rebound from bumps properly? and during the body lift process is there any secrets to make it go a little smoother. thanks

Although i havnt put a body lift on my truck I have heard that Performance Accessory is the way to go.. It comes with everything you will need and instuctions. As far as installation, again i've never done it but most people say its a whole days worth of work, THATS A LOT OF WORK!

And YES when the torsion bars are cranked up the ride is stiffer.

A lot of people like their body lifts. I have chosen however to get a 3.5in spindle lift for my 2wd. Its a more expensive, between 500 and 600 dollars.

P.S. Make sure you get gap guards with your lift!

Ruffn-it basically covered it. The best tip I can give you is to start soaking the body mounting bolts with penetrating oil before you even buy the kit.

Definatly Performance Accessory. I did mine awhile back, and yes it took me a whole day by myself. If you have someone to help you you might be able to get it done in like 4 to 8 hours. A little advice, the bed bolts are NOT a #47 torx. they are a size 50 torx bit. Knowing this should save you from stripping them out like so many of us have. Also be sure and check the clearances and tightnes of the shifter cable mounting bracket. You may need to tweak it a little to keep it from pulling you cable too tight or pinching it against the o2 sensor.

performance accesorrys body lift is the most complete with good instructions, takes about 6 hours if you dont take to many beer breaks, it makes it alot easer to have a freind or two help, good luck, gap gaurds a must to complete the look
