tosion bars

i know i can raise the vehical by cranking the tosion bars but is it worth it??? when ur front begins to sag with them cranked what do u do then??? how much lift will i get roughly?

Normaly you can get 1 to 2 inches of lift by cranking up the torsion bars. If they sag over time, the only solution would be to replace them like you would a sagging coil or leaf spring.

I'm not sure how much they are. It would take years for the torsion bars to sag out. I havn't heard of anyone having to replace a set because of sagging out, but I'm sure it has happened to someone.

oh ok so i take it alot of people have done this? .. do u have ur truck cranked?

racerf150man, Here's some details on heavy duty torsion bars that you can install to get a good 2 plus inches of lift for your front end. Also, they're heavier duty than the stock, they're for the F150s with the snow plow package. I have them on my Expy and have several buddies that have them on their F150s with great results and no complaints. They are the Ford heavy duty bars and are an exact fit and trust me on the specs, I did extensive research with Ford on this. The only heavy duty bars are Spring code 7 and they don't go in order of stiffness. A 4 is less stiff and so is an 8. The Spring code 7 was designed for the Ford F150 7700 lb GVWR snow plow package. They will raise the front GVWR to that of the F150 with a snow plow package. This is the data I have: Front will now be 4150 lbs. The Expy and F150s that have torsion bars are all the same length. If you're inclined, you can get some serious extra inches (several at least) if you crank them up with no problem of breaking. Remember, you WILL have to get the truck realigned after install and if you crank them, watch the angles on your CV axles!! They'll wear much quicker. The cost from www.fordpartsonline.com for the price of 53.00 and from the dealer, about $75 each. Here's the part numbers:
Right Side = F75Z5B326-KB, left Side = F75Z5B327-KB.

i just posted this on another subject,but i'll go ahead and throw it in here.mine were saggin a little bit and i pulled both of em out and flipped em over.i didn't change the left and right i just spun em around.it brought new life to em.they were gettin pretty low.i'm about ready to replace em with heavier bars but for now this fixed it.i've got 125,000 miles and mine were about ready to be replaced,but i do alot of hard driving so it wasn't a big surprise.
its worked pretty good so far.i don't see why they have a left and rear now,they seem to work just as good either way.
