Torsion Bars

I have been told that you need to jack the front end of your truck off the ground before you crank the torsion bars up. Is this true or not?

I adjusted mine without jacking it after each turn I would pull the truck back then pull forward before measuring to make sure they had settled. I hear the bolts turn easier if it is off the ground though.

that's true.if you do it on the ground,i hope you have a good impact cause it gets a little tiring crankin on those bolts underneath the truck.but it can be done

I just did mine 15 minutes ago with a 1/2" ratchet and couldn't believe how easy they turned. Shot them with some break-free, let it sit 10 minutes and turned them.
