Clunking, Thanks

Alright guys, When i'm stopped at a light and push on the gas (hard or soft) I hear a clunk. Its not the brakes but Im wondering if it could be the driveshaft or possibly even a transmission problem. When i push on the gas at any other time it works great, its just when I am at a complete stop. Thanks

It could be many different things. Possibly a U-Joint? You'd probably need to get down there and really check everything out, or take it to a shop.

Could be the slip yoke on the front of the driveshaft, where it goes into the transmission. Some will slide forward under braking and get stuck, then clunk as it slides back(while accelerating) It's been posted a thousand times. Drop the shaft down, slip a golf ball sized gob of grease into the end of the shaft, and reassemble. Hopefully that will clear it up. Otherwise I would think rear axle or suspension problem. worn gears, bushings, etc.
