coil spacer disadvantages?

Do coil spacers have any disadvantages such as a stiffer ride? I have heard it does and that it doesn't. Also, to make sure, i dont need new shocks, right?

Is this all thats necessary for the spacers:

becuase id rather just buy em off ebay

going with 265/75 R16, good? big power loss there or not? (mainly concerned with mpg)

My Daystar spacers didn't change the ride on my Grand Cherokee. You don't need new shocks because of the spacers, but they are never a bad upgrade.

Is it possible to "pop" a spacer on the F150? A guy I know had Daystar spacers on his 01 Tahoe and with some harder off roading, they sometimes poped of center or something and he would have to go and get it fixed. It would cause the suspension to sag on one side.
