Is it legal????

Does anyone know what the laws are for truck lift. I live in mass and I was told there are restrictions to how high you can go. I need to be able to pass inspection.
Thanks Anthony

Im in Cali and i think the limit is 13" here, well the tallest street legal truck ive seen had a 13" lift on it. But i think most states just have a restriction on how high off the ground the headlights can be.....if your state is like that, then all you need is to install your headlights into your front bumper. i may be wrong. Check your local vehicle code to find out.

How do the cops in cali measure your truck if they think its too big? Do they keep a book on the stock heights of all vehicles or something?

Lift Laws

November "Four Wheeler" has a state by state break down of whats legal.

For Massachusetts

"you cannot alter, modify or change the height of your truck if it has a GVWR of upto and including 10,000 by more than 2 inches (body or chassis) above the Vechicle manufacturers specified height by shckle lift or kits for the coil springs, tires and so on"

kind of sucks

especially when you compare to like

South Carolina

"your headlights can't be higher than 54". and a total vehicle height including load of no more than 13' 6"."

or

South Dakota

" total vehicle height can not exceed 14' "

Yes the specified height is what the factory sets it at. So stock.

LOL..... Yeah, that's the way I feel too......

Best of luck with the lift.... I still can't believe it's "against the law" to lift a truck!!
