Well now the lowering is done.
Tell me what you guys think!
I don't know how to add pics or a link to gallery.
So you will have to visit the gallery and search for h8louzn.

Very nice!

Which drop kit is that, and what wheel/tire combination did you go with?

Thanks,
It's a belltec 3/4 kit.
The rims are 20x8.5
Tires are 295/40/20.
The ride is still nice.

Those are some beefy tires for 20 inch rims. I bet that does keep the ride pretty close to stock. It seems that the low profile tires are most popular around here.

I wonder if the same drop kit and wheel/tire combination would give my Reg. Cab the same look (height). Or would it not sit at the same level because of the shorter wheelbase?

Looks good. Those things look like they are really stuffed up in there. Do you have a problem with it rubbing?

PS-what bed cover do you have? Thanks

Allstar - the lowering will be the same on your truck. Wheel base shouldn't make a difference.
Bartak - no problem with rubbing unless I forget to slow down over big dips while turning. The bed cover is a Snug top SL series.

I'm not real happy with the snug top. I have had to send it back because of warping and it is starting to do the same thing again. The only good thing is Snug top is good about honoring their warranty.

Thanks for your posts.

Is there a similar kit with maybe a 3/5 drop? Looks like dropping the rear one more inch would make the truck completely level.

I'm not sure who makes the 3-5 kit.
I think djm makes one and yes it would be level.
I wanted a little rake look so that's why I got this kit!

The shocks that I have are the ones that came with the kit.
I think they are nitro.
Everyone on here hates them but they seem to work fine for me!
Hope this helps!

Also had my head up my a** when I posted last.
The main reason I didn't go with that kit is cause you have to c - notch the frame to get the ride right.
I didn't want to do that.
I have seen 3-5's done without notching the frame and the guys are pissed cause the rearend hits the frame going down the freeway.
Hope this helps.
Eddie

P.S. Post some pics. when your done with it.

Sweet!

I think it's a nice balance between rubber and rim. Aggressive look with the 20's, but not so little rubber that it looks like a "pimpmobile"!

Is that rubber the same size that appears on the Dodge's that are coming directly from the factory with 20" rims?

western chassis makes a rear spring hanger that will adjust for a 2"-3" drop. used them on mine and worked great!
