front leveling kit
Recently I came across this on Ebay. These are spacers that bolt to you front struts to raise the front 1 1/2" to 2". They claim it doesn't effect the ride quality. But there is no mention on how it would effect the alignment. does anyone know anything about this product from Auto Spring Corp. (see Website)

THose spacers are for 04's only. The 04's use coilover shocks on the 4x2 and 4x4's. THe 97-03's are completly different. You can raise the front of the 97-03 4x4's by simply cranking up the torsion bars. On the 97-03 4x2's you can install coil spring spacers, like Daystar's, or install lift coils.

reply from manufacture
Thanks for the replies guys. I just got and E-mail from the manufacture and he pretty much reaffirmed what you said Wandell. I'm not too sure on the Torsion bar thing. I asked a Ford Mechanic at the dealer about doing it and he said absolutely not! Said it would void any Warrantees on the car, screw up the ride and handling and add excessive wear and tear to the front end!
But than I asked my doctor if drinking beer was ok and got a similar answer! So I guess its all relative!

Exactly, they could not void the entire warranty. That's part of the Magnuson-Moss Act. Just like (extreme example), they couldn't refuse to fix your power windows because you installed a supercharger, but they could refuse to rebuild the engine after it slung a rod. However, I think they would have a hard time justifing voiding your suspension warranty because you adjusted your torsion bars with the adjustment cams that they installed. If they are not supposed to be adjusted, why are they adjustable?

The front ends are adjustable to compensate for suspension wear. Jacking up your torsion bars too much will make your truck ride like a lumber wagon. If a vehicle is adjusted outside of stock specs it can make it difficult to align and cause tire wear (not covered under warranty anyway after 12 mos/12,000 miles).
As far as voiding your warrranty, the other gentleman is correct--it would POSSIBLY only void certain parts and then only if the concern you have can be affected by the parts installed
