ProComp 4'' lift? Problems!!!!!

I bought my 01 f-150 SCC 4x4 2 months ago. Since then i have purchased a 4'' lift kit from a retailer. They did the installed too. Well Ever since then i have had numerous problems w/ the kit. I don't know who to blame the lift manufacture or the installer.
So far these are my problems....

They installled one of the bolts wrong which was hitting the transfer case and when the 4 wheel drive was engaged the front drive shafts were hitting the bolts .

Next, ever since i got the lift something squeks....
Ex if i am driving in a straight line and hit the breaks it squeks

Braking and making a right or left turn(ie turing into a drive way) it squeks

Driving through my friends Mobile Home park it squeks....

Finally, i took the truck back for a clacking noise it was making, and they told me it was a wheel hub...Therefore, i took it to Ford since my truck IS under warrenty and had them replace it. TO my surprize they told me nothing was wrong w/ my wheel hub... I was like WTF!!!!!!! talked to a Regional MGr...and referred me to a different place and they took care of it...However it does still squek!!!!!

Does anybody have a squeeking noise from a lift (ie procomp, rancho, fabtech, hijacker etc)

I just got back from the place and they told me it was normal!!!

TIA,

Dave

I also have a squeak...that reared up right after my lifts were installed (I still believe it's related to the Rancho lift). It occurs when I drive over roads that are slightly bumpy (concrete roads) and when I brake. I've been unable to figure it out so far. I thought it was coming from the rear but the more I listen it sounds like it's coming from under the truck, at a back-front to mid location. I just oiled the 4 bushings that separate the Rancho subframe from the truck frame. Anyway, we'll see if that's it, and I'll let you know if it is. It's actually quite annoying. I know if I can hear it when I'm driving with the windows down there's no telling what it sounds like outside the truck!

Check the pads that fit between the rear leaf springs. If they are missing or worn through they will casue the leafs to rub together and squeek.

Doing an oil change last night and may have found the problem. I decided to use my little sample bottle of Royal Purple and put some oil on the 4 rubber bushings that connect the Rancho subframe to the rest of the truck. Today, driving on the same roads that always cause me squeaks, I heard nothing! See, my squeak wasn't a metal-on-metal type sound - it's very hard to describe. Almost like a metal-twisting sound, if that makes any sense at all.

Anyway, take a look at your lift components and any bushings used. The Rancho ones seem to be plain-jane rubber and I wonder if my "squeak" is rubber on metal. Good luck -

Mike

Polyurethane bushings are known to squeak. You have to grease them up before you put them on. If your kit has regular rubber bushings I don't know what to tell ya...But if you have polyurethane that is more than likely the problem.

Hope that helps
