2 inch Body lift question:

Hello,

I plan to do a body lift on my f150 2000 ext cab 4x4, I was thinking of putting a 2 inch body lift..All I want is to give my truck a higher look with out changing tires or anything. I have stock 17's. I notice the 2" body lift doesnt come with rear bumber brackets. Why dont they sell it with the 2" lift? and where Can I get it if they dont sell it?

2" vs 3" is there any visual difference or should I just go with a 3" with stock tires?

Oh yeah..can someone give me a site where I can get good deals in PA body lifts. Thanx a bunch!

they used to include the brackets in the kit but the brackets aren't as strong as the bumper mounted directly to the frame and people'd break their bumper off when they put a trailer on the bumper so they quit includin em.and just so ya know,a buddy of mine has a 2 inch lift on his supercab flareside 4x4 and he just put his stock wheels and tires back on and it looks dinky as hell with the stock 31's

I have one of those hitch thats mounted underneath the bed, not connected to the bumber...so should I still get the brackets?..i wont be towing anything on the bumber, only on the hitch thats on the bottom of my truck.

Performance Accessories never included rear bumper relocation brackets with their 2 inch kits. The bumper can be raised 2 inches without brackets by redrilling the mounting holes in the frame. Personally, I'd go ahead and get the 3 inch kit. Once you lift your truck, you will want to go higher.

For my 2" body lift, I just cut the top bumper stud off and opened up the top frame hole a bit. Put the bottom stud through, tighten the nut, and you're good to go. The rear bumper isn't worth anything anyway so I didn't see any harm in it.

Maybe just cranking the torsion bars would work for you? That could probably get you an extra 1" up front.

if you are going to the time and effort of doing the lift, go for the 3"

if i was you i would go with the 3" body lift for these reasons 1. it is a more complete kit and will look better because the bumper will be in about the stock location, 2. taller is always better, but about keeping your stock tires it will look kinda funny, it will look better with 33" hoped i helped
