Suspension Question
Suspension Question
I have to send one of my 22'' wheels back to the manufacturer for probably 1-2 weeks. I was wondering if I replace just that one wheel with the factory wheel if there would be any problems over time with the suspension. The difference in size in the wheels/tires is about 1-1/2''. Is this a good idea or not? Thanks in advance!
Do you mean 1&1/2" TALLER? If so, don't do this on the rear of a truck with the limited slip rear end or you'll burn out your clutches. On the front, be prepared for some pull to one side.

could cause abs concerns while you have different sized wheels but should go back to normal after you put the same size back on. would be a bad idea to put it on the rear that would cause wear in the differential.

It’s not going to hurt anything. It’s not going to cause excessive wear on the rear because it a LS. LS rears let the tires turn at different speeds all the time going around corners, that ‘s why you have a LS (limited slip) rear in the first place, not a locked rear. It also is not going to cause the ABS system to malfunction. Why? Just think about it, why? Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill, just put the factory wheel on and Go.

j/k
The limited slip is designed to slip the small amount of time that you go around corners. Putting 2 different height tires makes the LS slip all the time. The clutches are not designed to slip for extended periods of time. There has never been a competent rear end specialist that recommended running 2 different tire heights on a limited slip rear end. The reason why is because if someone gives incorrect mechanical advice, it makes them liable for the damage that may be caused.
