2004 Heritage F150

Hi
just bought a new F150 x-cab (heritage model ...actually a 2003 model carried over to 2004) but the price was REALLY!! right.

with 100 miles on the truck i get a vibration at 65-70 mph.
all the dealer wants to do is play with the air pressure.

To me this is an alignment or shock problem.

any others out there with shimmy problems on 2003 F150's?...any solutions????
thanks

Welcome ! That could be a number of things. Many dealerships let their trucks sit without moving for extended periods of time. This makes flat spots on the tires. Sometimes a long road trip can heat them up and fix it and other times the tires are ruined. Start eliminating tire and balancing problems before you worry about shocks and alignment.

I hope that you are right...they seemed to be inclined to avoid replacing anything. the truck is in the shop now (2nd try) ....will let you know. they searched bulletins and are trying driveline dampner, etc
thanks

f150 shimmy

Max...Problem solved. They took a complete set of wheels and tires of another new f150 and put them on our truck and now everything is fine. They said the 2 orig. front tires felt a little heavier than the new ones...maybe filled with water???
anyway thanks for the input. I still intend to put on a good set of front shocks soon.
best

That was nice of them. I'm glad you got fixed up. Yes, they added more spark plug threads beginning in 2003. That's ONE of the reasons I bought a 2004 Heritage Lightning. It took Ford 7 years to work the bugs out of this version.
