shocks

Hey all I have Bilstein shocks on my 2001 f-150 supercrew, they are not adjustable, and I am not really that happy with the ride. My truck feels like it sways side to side and front to back. Like when your going down the road at around 70 and the road has a little woop in it, my truck feels like it wants to jump it. What would be a good shock to firm up the ride on ride.
thanks for all the info and help

Sorry I can't give you a reccomendation on a new shock but Bilsteins are good shocks. How long have you had them? They may need changing.

There is no shock that is going to get rid of the whoopy di do's the freeways have it is in the freeway itself and there really is nothing you can do about it. It is a oscillation that occurs. If you accelerate or decelerate i would guess it disappears then when your speed steadies out again it will return. It is just the way trucks ride on those roads when the have that in them.

Thanks everyone for your info, the shocks are about 3 months old. They just feel soft and mushy, I had a 93 f150 that was lifted 6 inches and also ran 35's never got the whoopy di do feeling on the freeway or in the dirt. The lift is also the same as I ran, but to me the shocks just feel mushy, maybe its just me. I think I am going to get a set of the rs 9000's from rancho and give them a try.
Thanks again.

I just installed the 9000's. I have them set at 5 and the ride is firm, but not rough. I LOVE IT!

Question

I recently installed pro comp es 9000 shocks in the front along with Moog upper and lower ball joints and the energy suspension bushings in the sway bar and complete A-arm sets. My question since I have stiffened up the front, can this cause damage to my rims and tires when im driving?. I'm running 24" Katana rims with kuhmo 305/35 low pro's. I just want to get clarification on this. I enjoy the handling but the ride is a little rough.

when I bought my 01 Screw with 40K on it last march it had a leaking shock on the rear left side. So I replaced the 2 rear OEMs after only a week with KYB Monomax. The ride was quite stiffer for the first week or so. Then, either the shocks mellowed out a bit or I got used to them but not to the point as to be soft like trhe OEMs. So last month I decided to do the 2 front OEMs. I also replaced them with KYB Monomax. Same thing again, good stiff ride but not teeth jarring. Now after a month and a thousand miles on the new Front shocks, they also have mellowed a bit to what I feel is the perfect balance for the type of driving I do. Mostly commuting to work. A bit of small RV trailer towing, and a bit of Gravel Road driving for Fishing/Hunting

The KYB shocks seldomly get mentioned here in the boards. Too Bad

PS They also have a Lifetime Warranty
